Welcome to Marjie’s Gluten Free Pantry and Food Co-op - the first store
of its kind in Michigan!
Attention! It has recently come to our attention from a lab report dated July 13, 2016 which was released by GlutenFree Watchdog indicating that Sami’s Bakery Bread contains high levels of gluten and should not be sold as “gluten free”.
We are diligently researching these findings and have been assured by the owner at Sami’s Bakery that they DO NOT add any gluten containing ingredients.
Sami’s Bakery will be conducting their own testing and will provide the lab results as soon as possible. In light of these findings we will be suspending future orders until we are confident these items are below an acceptable threshold to be considered gluten free.
Friday, July 22, 2016 will be our last delivery for the time being.
On the positive note, we will receive our first bread delivery from Rumi’s Passion located in Plymouth, MI which is a dedicated gluten and dairy free facility. Come in on Friday July 22 or Saturday July 23 for a sample.
About the Pantry The Pantry offers a large selection of gluten and dairy free foods, health care products, and environmentally sound cleaning products. Plus, it is a food co-op offering more than 30,000 different products delivered weekly (see the
co-op page for more details).
Marjie, a Holistic Nutritional Counselor, personally selects all of the products carried in The Pantry. She chooses products that are of high quality, made from wholesome ingredients, and that support good health. When possible she carries products that are locally made. She also recognizes that people on a special diet are searching for great tasting, better choices in snack foods, so she strives to carry a wide assortment. Many of the products are also soy and corn free.
How the Pantry Got Started The Pantry is an expansion of Marjie C. Andrejciw’s, Holistic Nutritional Counselor practice,
Circle of Life Nutrition, LLC. Often times, when Marjie met with clients, they commented on her great recommendations, but complained there was no place local to purchase the food or supplements. Therefore, on May 8th, 2010, Marjie opened The Pantry which offers many of the great products she commonly recommends. Just one year later she needed to expand and relocated to the new location at 106 S. Leroy St. located right on the main street in historic downtown Fenton.
Marjie holds a Master’s degree in Holistic Nutrition from
Hawthorn University. In her practice,
Circle of Life Nutrition, LLC she specializes in chronic illness with an emphasis on autism. Go to her website to find out more about her and the services that she offers. She meets with clients in her office located inside the pantry.
Marjie suffers with a gluten, dairy, and corn intolerance and understands from first hand experience how challenging it can be to find foods free of these ingredients. Because of her foods intolerances, she has suffered with an autoimmune disease from which she has since recovered. This has spurred her motivation and passion to help others recover their health as well.
The store symbol is The Purple Spotted Swallowtail (Graphium weiskei) butterfly. It lives in mountainous areas above an altitude of 4000 ft in Papua New Guinea and is relatively rare. This butterfly symbolizes a transformation in health for our customers and their ability to soar high despite living in a world that does not always understand. The purple color in the butterfly represents spirituality and higher consciousness, and the green color represents growth and healing.
Thank you for visiting our store’s website. We hope to see you soon!
